My team and I strive to provide the best clinical care possible, identify and pursue research questions that will improve our ability to care for tomorrow's patients, and teach the next generation of physicians and researchers.

My clinical practice focuses on care of otologic and neurotologic disorders in children and adults. These include patients with hearing loss, imbalance, and tumors of the skull base.

My research questions include mechanisms of imbalance in the elderly, techniques of cochlear implantation, coding of vestibular-nerve signals, and hearing and balance in marine mammals.

Diagnosis and treatment are often collaborative efforts with Washington University's Department of Neurology, Department of Neurosurgery, and Department of Radiation Oncology and with the Rehabilitation Institute of Saint Louis.
